Blue Steel Electric Motorcycle

I saw this electric motorcycle at the 2016 Handbuilt Motorcycle Show in Austin, TX and it was pretty intriguing. There was very little information on the small cards put on each motorcycle. After researching the bike, I found that the name of the bike is the Blue Steel Electric Motorcycle. This electric motorcycle was made by Matt Candler of the company Night Shift Bikes.

The 2003 Suzuki Savage frame has a mix of electrical parts and motorcycle parts. It has an Enertrac electric engine that produces 13hp continuously, to a top of 40hp. The battery cells are from a Leaf Electric Car. The bike is charged using a 110 AC outlet. It also uses regenerative charging when you let off of the throttle. The bike can go a distance of about 100 miles on one charge.
