We first saw this 1975 Shovelhead at the Giddy Up Vintage Chopper Show in New Braunfels, TX in March 2015 where we were impressed by the bike overall and especially the bad ass painted tank. Later we found that it is owned and built by Bret Wilk of Top Dead Center Cycles in Austin, TX, so we went by to meet him and his wife, Julie, (the owners of the shop) and the crew to learn more about the Shovel and take some pictures.
Bret took the Shovelhead swing arm frame and turned it into rigid and raked the front. The hand-built 101 motor has Torque Monster Flywheels and a Ratchet Top 4 Speed, hand-built sissy bar, foot pegs, seat, exhaust, oil bag and everything in between, and a reworked tank with custom retro paint.
The Top Dead Center Cycles website is being rebuilt, but you can all them at 512-906-9511 to get anything done from maintenance to a custom build.
